Meet the team
Sabrina Miller
With over 30 years of experience across the fashion and hospitality industries, Sabrina Miller brings a refined sense of care, design, and presentation to every aspect of Brighten A Heart™. Her focus on creating beauty with purpose shapes the organization, from the thoughtful curation of comfort care totes to the intentional and respectful way they are delivered.
Originally from Seattle, Sabrina spent sixteen years living and working in New York City, along with many years working abroad in the fashion industry. During that time, she developed a strong appreciation for detail, environment, and the way thoughtful design can shape how people feel.
Through her time abroad, including experiences across Europe, India, and Hong Kong, she gained a deeper appreciation for different cultures and ways of life. Across these experiences, she noticed a shared thread, a quiet and consistent sense of care for others. That understanding continues to influence how she approaches her work today.
Sabrina’s connection to this work began early. Her mother owned a floral shop in Seattle, where she and her sister learned the importance of giving back.
At the end of each week, they would use the remaining flowers to create small arrangements and deliver them to local hospitals for patients. Those early experiences left a lasting impression and continue to shape her work today.
Years later, while living in New York City, Sabrina continued this practice by creating and donating small floral arrangements to brighten the days of seniors, hospital patients, and homebound individuals. These moments reinforced how meaningful a simple gesture can be and became the foundation for Brighten A Heart™.
Now working across Hawaiʻi, Las Vegas, and Seattle, Sabrina supports the organization’s early launches and partnerships. Her work is also shaped by personal experience in family caregiving, deepening her understanding of how meaningful even a brief moment of comfort can be for someone facing illness, fear, or uncertainty.
At the heart of her work is a simple philosophy:
"What brings me the most joy is making someone smile — creating a positive, unexpected emotion, even if it lasts less than fifteen seconds."
Sheina Miller
With a natural sense of organization and empathy, Sheina Miller has always been someone who plans ahead, pays attention to detail, and looks after others. From a young age, she was drawn to roles that required both structure and care.
During high school, Sheina worked every weekend at a nearby nursing home, where she spent time reading to residents, playing board games, and offering companionship. These early experiences shaped her understanding of how meaningful simple, consistent presence can be.
After graduating, she was offered an apprenticeship with a medical company, where she trained in administration and finance. The skills she developed during that time continue to guide her work today.
She later moved to Las Vegas, where she worked for more than a decade as a project manager, overseeing a range of projects including home renovations. Her approach has always been grounded in careful planning, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Before founding Brighten A Heart™, Sheina and her sister, Sabrina, regularly visited local nursing homes in Las Vegas, bringing small floral arrangements and spending time with residents. These simple acts of care helped shape the foundation of the organization.
Today, Sheina brings structure, consistency, and thoughtful leadership to Brighten A Heart™. Her background in project management, combined with a lifelong commitment to helping others, ensures that every detail, from the design of each comfort care tote to the coordination of each delivery, reflects the organization’s mission.
Claudia Bartolini
Claudia Bartolini was born in 1944 in Verona, Italy, the middle of five children. Raised on a family farm during the final year of World War II, she developed a strong sense of resilience, humility, and family unity. From a young age, she worked alongside her siblings and parents to help support the household, learning the importance of hard work, kindness, and caring for others.
At eighteen, while working in a local restaurant, Claudia met her husband. They married and later immigrated to Manitoba, Canada, before eventually settling in California.
Years later, while living in Las Vegas with her young family, Claudia experienced a tragic accident when her car was struck by a drunk driver. The accident took the life of one of her children and left Claudia and her youngest son in intensive care. The loss was profound, and her ability to move forward speaks to her strength and resilience.
In the years that followed, Claudia felt a deep desire to be there for others who were going through difficult moments. She often reflects on how meaningful it is to offer comfort, especially to those who are not feeling well or may not have visitors. That belief became a quiet and steady part of her life.
After recovering, Claudia returned to California and began visiting a local hospital ward on a regular basis. What began as a simple act of kindness grew into a nine-year commitment to supporting patients, especially those without visitors. She brought small potted flowers, spent time in conversation, and offered a steady, comforting presence.
Three years ago, Claudia moved back to Las Vegas with her son and remains a meaningful presence in the lives of those around her. She has become like a second mother to Sabrina and Sheina Miller, offering encouragement, perspective, and care.
As a board member of Brighten A Heart™, Claudia brings a lifetime of experience and a deep commitment to helping others feel seen, supported, and cared for.
