Sabrina Miller

With over 30 years of experience across the fashion and hospitality industries, Sabrina brings a refined sense of care, design, and presentation to every aspect of Brighten A Heart™. Her focus on creating beauty with purpose shapes the organization, from the thoughtful curation of Comfort Care Totes to the intentional and respectful way they are delivered.

Originally from Seattle, Sabrina spent sixteen years living and working in New York City, along with many years working abroad in the fashion industry. During that time, she developed a strong appreciation for detail, environment, and the way thoughtful design can shape how people feel.

Through her time abroad, including experiences across Europe, India, and Hong Kong, she gained a deeper appreciation for different cultures and ways of life. Across these experiences, she noticed a shared thread, a quiet and consistent sense of care for others. That understanding continues to influence how she approaches her work today.

Sabrina’s connection to this work began early. Her mother owned a floral shop in Seattle, where she and her sister learned the importance of giving back. At the end of each week, they would use the remaining flowers to create small arrangements and deliver them to local hospitals for patients. Those early experiences left a lasting impression and continue to shape her work today.

Years later, while living in New York City, Sabrina continued this practice by creating and donating small floral arrangements to brighten the days of older adults, hospital patients, and people who were homebound. These moments reinforced how meaningful a simple gesture can be and became part of the foundation for Brighten A Heart™.

Under her leadership, Brighten A Heart™ has grown into a 501(c)(3) public charity building partnerships with hospitals, hospice programs, senior care organizations, and community partners across multiple states.

Today, Sabrina leads Brighten A Heart™ as its Founder & President/CEO, guiding programs and partnerships across Nevada, Hawaiʻi, and Washington State. Her work is also shaped by personal experience in family caregiving, deepening her understanding of how meaningful even a brief moment of comfort can be for someone facing illness, fear, or uncertainty.

At the heart of her work is a simple philosophy:

"What brings me the most joy is making someone smile — creating a positive, unexpected emotion, even if it lasts less than fifteen seconds."

Sheina Miller

With a natural sense of organization and empathy, Sheina Miller has always been someone who plans ahead, pays attention to detail, and looks after others. From a young age, she was drawn to roles that required both structure and care.

During high school, Sheina worked every weekend at a nearby nursing home, where she spent time reading to residents, playing board games, and offering companionship. These early experiences shaped her understanding of how meaningful a simple and consistent presence can be.

After graduating, she was offered an apprenticeship with a medical company, where she trained in administration and finance. The skills she developed during that time continue to guide her work today.

She later moved to Las Vegas, where she worked for more than a decade as a project manager, overseeing a range of projects including home renovations. Her approach has always been grounded in careful planning, reliable follow through, and attention to detail.

Before Brighten A Heart™ was established, Sheina and her sister, Sabrina, regularly visited local nursing homes in Las Vegas, bringing small floral arrangements and spending time with residents. These simple acts of care helped shape the foundation of the organization.

Today, Sheina serves as Director of Operations & Administration for Brighten A Heart™, bringing structure, consistency, and thoughtful leadership to the organization. Her background in project management, administration, and finance helps support the planning and coordination behind Brighten A Heart’s programs and partnerships.

Her attention to detail can be seen throughout the organization, from the thoughtful preparation of each Comfort Care Tote to the coordination of deliveries and day to day operations. Sheina’s steady approach helps ensure that the care behind Brighten A Heart’s mission is reflected in the way its work is carried out.

Claudia Bartolini

Claudia Bartolini

Board Member

Born in Verona, Italy, in 1944, Claudia Bartolini was the middle of five children and grew up on a family farm in the years following World War II. From an early age, she worked alongside her parents and siblings, learning the importance of family, hard work, kindness, and caring for others.

At eighteen, while working in a local restaurant, Claudia met her husband. They later married and moved to Manitoba, Canada, before eventually settling in California and building a life together.

Years later, while living in Las Vegas with her young family, Claudia experienced a devastating family tragedy when their car was struck by a drunk driver. She lost one of her children, while Claudia and her youngest son required intensive medical care. The experience profoundly shaped her life and deepened her compassion for people facing illness, loss, and difficult circumstances.

In the years that followed, Claudia felt increasingly drawn to supporting others. After returning to California, she began regularly visiting patients at a local hospital. What started as a simple act of kindness became a nine year commitment to spending time with patients, particularly those who had few or no visitors. She brought small potted flowers, shared conversation, and offered the steady presence of someone who simply cared.

Claudia later returned to Las Vegas, where she remains deeply connected to her family and community. She has also become like a second mother to Sabrina and Sheina Miller, offering encouragement, perspective, and care throughout the development of Brighten A Heart™.

As a Board Member of Brighten A Heart™, Claudia brings a lifetime of compassion, resilience, and service to others. Her experiences reinforce one of the beliefs at the heart of the organization: sometimes simply showing up for another person can make a meaningful difference.
