Meet the Brighten A Heart Kids™ Friends

Brighten A Heart Kids™ is designed to help children feel a little more brave, understood, and supported during a hospital stay. Through healthcare facilities, we deliver cheerful totes and character friends that kids may relate to, offering comfort and a reminder that their community cares.

We’re creating a small group of character friends so children can recognize different feelings and personalities, whether they are quiet or outgoing, sensitive or silly, full of energy or needing extra rest. The goal is simple: a small moment of comfort, and a reminder that they are cared for.

Different feelings. Different ways to cope. Same heart.

The kinds of projects you might see

When you see the Brighten A Heart Kids™ name (and our little bee and butterfly friends), it simply means a project has been shaped with children in mind. Depending on the setting, that might look like:

a kindness-themed 6 × 6 canvas or note that will later be tucked into a comfort-care tote

Check mark inside a circle, symbolizing approval or completion.

a simple art activity at home, in a classroom, or with a small group

Yellow checkmark inside a yellow circle on a black background.

a kid-friendly comfort item, such as Brighten A Heart Kids™ finger puppets or storybooks, gifted to one child at a time and never shared between patients

Blue checkmark inside a blue circle

The specific materials, age ranges, and step-by-step instructions live on our Get Involved page and in our 6 × 6 Canvas & Card Guidelines, so families and teachers have clear direction without overwhelming kids with details.
